FUJIFILM GFX 100 ii Unboxing.
We are super excited here at The Picture House to have our hands on the new Fujifilm GFX 100 II. We can’t wait to use this on shoot and put it through its paces.
So here it is, star of the show, the GFX 100 Mark II and I'm super excited about this and I must admit I haven't even demoed one, I haven't rented one, I've never even held one or seen one in the flesh. So this is the first time I'm seeing this thing. Let's get past all the gubbins that no one cares about.
I mean I must say Fuji, the unboxing experience is a little bit underwhelming for the cost of the camera but at least it's all recyclable materials apart from these single-use plastics here but never mind.
let's go straight to it.
It's got some heft, it's weighty straight away that's one thing I will say.
That top screen is huge and I really, really love that. That's the first thing that kind of stands out apart from like the industrial design of it.
Fujifilm have kind of moved away bravely from everything just looking like super retro sheeky cool to being a little bit more contemporary but still staying in line with their sort of design language which I do really, really love. This is a very nice looking camera.
Oh my god, look at the size of that sensor.
Let's look at the ports on the side. We've got a gigabit ethernet I believe it is. And that allows loads of different functionality including tethered capture and wireless control over IP when in video mode. You can drop footage via frame I.O. I believe as well. So loads of really cool future-proof functionality out of that. 4.5mm jack which functions as a mic and a remote. Full-size HDMI.
That is what we want to see. We want to see full-size HDMI's and a USB-C for data and charging batteries. SD card slot and CFast Express Type B on the right hand side. And then I believe there's a secret little port, it's a headphone port which is very cool. It's actually nicely hidden. You wouldn't even know it's there. But I'm really sad and I read the manual one day. I was so excited once we ordered it that I just sort of read through the manual.
Lets’ quickly take the top bit off because that's where the viewfinder goes in. So there's a little cover. We're going to take that off. Get that out of the way. Put it somewhere safe. There are loads and loads of tiny little delicate connectors in there. So I'm going to be very, very careful when putting this on.
And that slides on with a very satisfying click.
Let's see what else we've got in the box, we have a battery of course, A USB-C cable. Thanks, Fuji. I mean, this is possibly the world's smallest USB-C cable. I'm not sure how useful that is, but thank you anyway Fuji. A camera strap and a battery charger, of course.
So there we have it. A very quick unboxing and a first look at the GFX 100 Mark II. We've got a couple of shoots coming up in the next few weeks where we're going to be putting this camera through its paces. And we're also going to be doing a more in-depth look as well where we'll be sharing our thoughts and feelings about the camera. So thanks for joining us.
